I Hopped Onto The Bandwagon Too!

By heavenlygorgeous · February 1, 2010 · 15 Comments · 125 Views

Yes. I bought the Maybelline Angelfit Pore Zero Base from Watsons yesterday.

There's only one shade available - Natural Pink (01). When i checked Maybelline Japan's website, they have two shades available - 01 and 02. 02 is more to the light brown shade. More suitable for medium dark skin girls like me? Because when Fatin (Tiarabangs) did her review on this, she did mentioned that this product makes her face looks a bit lighter.

I thought Maybelline should have brought in the 02 shade to Singapore as well. I just don't understand why is it that they have to bring in limited shades for us. Don't they know that people in Singapore have different skin color too? This is so depressing ok.  -__-

What it actually does.

The ingredients.

I have not open the box yet as i'm not going to use it for now. But this is how the tube looks like.

Anyway, for those who wants to get this, you better get it NOW! Watsons is having a promotion until 24th February 2010, if i'm not wrong. Anyone knows the dateline for the promotion, please share ok. Thank you! Retail price is SGD 19.90. Promotion price is SGD 15.90. Giant Supermarket has a promotion for this too. But their promotion price is SGD 15.95. And John Little too, with the 20% discount, of course.

The Body Shop Wild Cherry Body Scrub

By heavenlygorgeous · January 29, 2010 · 14 Comments · 69 Views

This is a travel-size tub. When i saw that they have this at the The Body Shop Atrium Sale at IMM, i know i have to get it. I have always wanted to try this out but the retail-size tub is retailing at SGD 29.90. I thought it was quite pricey for a 200 ml tub.

Size: 50 ml / 1.79 oz  / 51 g

Price: 2 for SGD 10

Description: A gentle exfoliating scrub that removes dead skin cells whilst invigorating. Leaves your skin feeling soft, smooth and better prepared to absorb moisture, plus it’s subtly scented with our tantalising Wild Cherry fragrance.

The GOOD: The smell is amazing! And the smell sticks on my skin for quite awhile after i've used it. The smell is sweet and fruity (cherry smell) and not too strong either. The scrub beads are not too big and also not too small. I didn't feel like it's too harsh when i rubbed it on my skin. Since the scrub beads are a lot, i didn't need to use a lot of it. I usually dip into the tub with two fingers, scooped at least about five times with a small-size glob and spread it evenly all over my body. It made my skin feels so soft and doesn't make my skin feels sticky or greasy after each exfoliation.

The BAD: The texture is kind of like a gel. Think strawberry jam. So it's kind of runny and quite difficult to scoop a small glob with your fingers.

Product: ★★★★☆

Packaging: ★★★★★

Purchasable at: The Body Shop

Recommended: Yes - For those who are not fussy about the price.

Would i buy it again?: Yes (if it's a travel-size tub and with a sale price). No (if it's a retail-size tub). As what i know, they don't sell the travel-size tub at the stores. And i don't want to splurge too much on a Body Scrub.

Liese Juicy Shower

By heavenlygorgeous · January 29, 2010 · 8 Comments · 64 Views

I am addicted to this baby! I put this in my bag and bring it everywhere i go. This is actually the travel-size bottle. The full size bottle (Juicy Shower Trigger Pack - 200ml) retails at SGD 14.90 and the Refill Pack (340ml) retails at SGD 16.90.

Size: 50 ml

Price: SGD 3.95

Description: Give your hair a quick boost of moisture anytime with this uniquely formulated hair mist with moisturising raspberry extract. It instantly quenches dry hair, smoothens all frizziness and prepares your hair for styling!

The GOOD: I love the smell of it. It has a raspberry smell. It made my hair softer and it sure does tame the frizzy hairs away. It doesn't make my hair sticky or greasy at all. Can be use on dry or damp hair. I sprayed it on my fringe everytime before i use the flat iron to straighten my fringe.

The BAD: The smell doesn't last long.

Product: ★★★★★

Packaging: ★★★★★ - Packaging is cute! Love the fuchsia color!

Purchasable at: Watsons

Recommended: Yes

Would i buy it again?: Yes. I will buy the refill bottle.

NYX & Artistry Swapped

By heavenlygorgeous · January 26, 2010 · 4 Comments · 58 Views

Remember my review about the Artistry Essentials Balancing Skin Care System which didn't work out for me and was giving it away to anyone who would like to give it a try?

Candy (Alightedroom) commented on the post and said that she wanted it. It was actually for her boyfriend. Isn't that so sweet of her? She also insisted on paying for the postage because she'll feel bad if she didn't. I told her that it's ok since i've already mentioned in the post that the postage fees are free-of-charge.

So she suggested a swap instead and i agreed to her suggestion. She got me a NYX Round Lipstick in Circe.

Yes, it's brand new. And here are the swatches.

It looks pinkish in the pictures but off picture, it isn't.

I tried it on my lips and realized that i can't apply the lipstick like i normally do because it's very pigmented and i have dark lip color and it looks super nude-ish on my lips. So what i did was, i tapped it lightly onto my lips and spread it out evenly. And i thought it looked much, much better that way. Not too much color and not too little color either.

And to Candy, if you're reading this, thank you so much for the swap! Really appreciate it. And do update me on the Artistry Essentials Balancing Skin Care System ok. Hope it works for your boyfriend!

Isn't swapping is the best thing in the beauty world?  *grins*

The Body Shop Atrium Sale

By heavenlygorgeous · January 22, 2010 · 13 Comments · 115 Views

I went to IMM yesterday and saw that there was a The Body Shop Atrium Sale.

I didn't get to take pictures when it was still open because there were way too many people blocking my view and walking past in front of me despite see-ing me trying hard to take a picture of it using my mobile phone. So inconsiderate.  *pppfffttt*

There weren't a lot of cosmetics. There's only one wagon that contained cosmetics. The rest were all skin care products - shower gels, soaps, body butter and etc. Shower Gels in trave-size bottle are going off at four for SGD 10. Eye Gels SGD 19.90 and SGD 10.90. And i seriously can't remember what else was there. I'm so sorry. I asked one of the Beauty Advisors about when will the sale ends and she said it will only be until this Sunday 24th January 2010.

And something that i want to rant about. I just super hate it when a guy stood beside his gf throughout the whole process of browsing through stuffs at the sale. One thing is that those guys totally blocked my view for nothing ok. They were like practically standing beside their gf and dutifully holding out the small basket for their gf. And there's one couple who totally annoyed me to the core, especially the guy, who was babbling nonsense. He was like asking the gf why girls need to buy lots of makeups and whatnots. And he blocked my view despite hearing me saying 'excuse me' to him a few times. I was like hardcore annoyed already and tapped his shoulders (i was standing right behind him) and said, "Excuse me. You're not needed here. If you're buying, stay. If not, move." And he was so embarrassed because everyone was looking at him and he moved away and wait for his gf at one side. His gf looked at me and i rolled my eyes at her. I super don't care ok. I'm in the mood to shop so please don't spoil the mood can.  *pppfffttt*

Ok. I'm sorry for the ranting. But i can't help it.

Anyway, here's what i bought from the sale.

Wild Cherry Body Scrub (51g - travel-size tub) - Two for SGD 10. Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel (retail size) - SGD 10.90.

I've always wanted to try out this Body Scrub but they're selling the retail-size tub at SGD 29.90. But they marked down the price to SGD 19.90 at the sale. But since they have the travel-size tub as well, i decided to grab it. I have not used it yet nor used it before. This was my first time i got it. The smell of this Body Scrub is very nice! I wanted to get the St. Ives Body Scrub in Oatmeal and Shea. But i missed the John Little Sale which they were selling it at SGD 7 a tub. It was a very good deal that i totally missed!

This Eye Gel retails at SGD 15.90. Sale price is SGD 10.90. I'm not sure if this Eye Gel will do something for our dark circles or what. From what i heard it best deals with puffiness. Will try it out and give me some time to do a review on it ok.

So girls, do head down to IMM this weekend if you need to grab on some stuffs ok!

CHIC Magazine Past Issues Giveaway

By heavenlygorgeous · January 20, 2010 · 4 Comments · 65 Views

No no. Don't get me wrong. I'm not the one who will be hosting the giveaway. I'm just sharing this information with you girls.

Two days back, i went to the CHIC Magazine's office with my Bestie (Huda) to collect the past issues of the magazine. And of course, i did the reservation first before heading down to the office to collect it.

They gave out issue number one to ten. Sad to say that i only bought their issue number one and two. And here's how you can get copies for yourself.

"FREE set of CHIC first 10 issues if you're between our advertisers' target age group of 21-35 (limited to 1500 only) and come with your photo-ID, or simply show up at our office, it's between Boat and Clarke Quay.

To avoid disappointment, you can reserve your set at http://www.chicreaders.com and click on "get past issues". Those who reserve first before showing up are entitled to bring 3 friends who aren't in our advertiser's target age group, and they can redeem a set for FREE as well!

Don't worry if you're not with anyone who is within our advertisers' target group, you can still come and pick up a set at the special price of $1 per issue."

Collection dates: 18 - 22 January 2010

Time: 10am - 8pm

Venue: 19 Carpenter Street Level 2 (across Clarke Quay MRT station)

And to complete the whole collection...

I bought issue number eleven as well! This month's issue is slightly thicker and of course, it has a lot of juicy stuffs inside. I love CHIC Magazine. But the only thing i hate is the size of the magazine. I would prefer if it's just the same size like any other normal magazine would be. If it's the same size just like the 8 Days Magazine, it would be better. I can just dump the magazine in my bag and bring it everywhere i go. Very convenient, right?

So, what are you waiting for? Go get yours as soon as possible!

Sasa & Watsons Hauls

By heavenlygorgeous · January 20, 2010 · 27 Comments · 147 Views

Last Friday, i went to get some stuffs from Sasa and Watsons. I'm sure you girls knew that Diana (Adore Beauty) and Chantana (Everbluec) have bought either one of these items already. And so i thought i've to jump onto the bandwagon too.

Maybelline Lip Smooth Botanicals Lip Balm in Grapefruit - SGD 6.90 (Sasa). I didn't see this at Watsons or Guardian except at Pink Beauty and Sasa. There's two types of flavor - Grapefruit and Orange Peel. This Lip Balm is not tinted. I've not opened nor used it yet. But you can refer to Chantana's post on how the product looks like. And Chantana also mentioned in her post that this Lip Balm has a smell of a Grapefruit. So i assumed if you girls get the one in Orange Peel, perhaps it smells like orange?

L'oreal True Match Liquid Foundation in Nude Amber (N7) - SGD 30.90 (Watsons). My mistake was that i shouldn't have bought it from Watsons. I should have bought it from John Little instead because there's a 20% discount. But it's ok. Anyway, i've used this baby thrice for now and it's weird that it gives me a dewy finishing while Diana said that it made her face looked matte. And honestly, i'm liking this Liquid Foundation more than the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation. Firstly, because Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation made me look grey-ish and the bottle has no pump. But this L'oreal True Match Liquid Foundation totally blends with my skin color. I'll do a review on it soon.

Triton Wedges Sponges (24 pcs) - SGD 2.90 (Sasa). I bought this just for the Liquid Foundation. And it's pink! Very cute, right? Each sponge can be used up to four times provided you wash them.

So there. I would also like to try applying Liquid Foundation using a Foundation brush. Any recommendations for a good Foundation Brush? Preferably inexpensive ones as long as it's good.

Lush Soaps Samples From Raychxty

By heavenlygorgeous · January 19, 2010 · 6 Comments · 59 Views

Remember Raychxty's Lush giveaway? No, i didn't win the giveaway but Rachel is so nice to send me a sample of Rockstar and Honey I Washed The Kids Lush Soaps as a token of appreciation for participating in the giveaway.

This is actually my very first time that i got to smell Lush Soaps. I've heard all the raves about it and have no idea what's so good about them until i get my hands on on the soaps even though they're just samples. But still, the smell are so yummylicious!

I especially love the smell of Honey I Washed The Kids more than Rockstar. Rockstar's smell is too overpowering. I got headaches from sniffing too much of it. But the worse thing was that i left the Rockstar Soap on my computer table for a week and the smell stays there. So everytime i sit in front of the computer, i get a headache and the smell even lingers in my bedroom. I sprayed air-freshener also no use. The smell is still there.

So i kept the soaps in the drawer boxes and the smell stays in there now. It's better that way. I have not use the soaps yet. Soon maybe. Once again, thank you so much to Rachel for giving me the opportunity to try out samples of the Lush Soaps. Really appreciate it.

My December Favorites

By heavenlygorgeous · January 19, 2010 · 2 Comments · 63 Views

1. Liese Juicy Shower (Moisturising Hair Mist) - I love the smell of it. Raspberry is love! Since it's travel-size, it's very convenient for me to bring it anywhere in my bag.

2. SilkyGirl Lash Prism Waterproof Mascara in Blackest Black (01) - For a drugstore mascara, this baby work wonders. I've been using this everyday. Definitely perfect for everyday use.

3. M.A.C Zoom Fast Black Lash Mascara in Black - I love how pigmented this mascara is. And it also gives me a false eyelash effect.

4. E.L.F Bronzer in Warm - My everyday bronzer. Love the glow it gives to my face.

5. I Nuovi Colours D27 Eyeshadow in Sabrina - I love the pigmentation of this eyeshadow. This is way pigmented than M.A.C Eyeshadow in Carbon. I've been using this more for smokey eyes.

Artistry Essentials Balancing Skin Care System

By heavenlygorgeous · January 19, 2010 · 10 Comments · 88 Views

Last month, a good friend of mine (Ir Nana) who is now residing in the US sent me a box of travel-sized Artistry Essentials Balancing Skin Care System for combination/oily skin. She's actually a dealer for Artistry products. There's makeups, hair cares, skin cares for both men and women, sports nutrition, vitamins and supplements and lots more.

Type: For combination/oily skin

Size: Cleanser - 20 ml / 0.66 fl oz, Toner - 30 ml / 1 fl oz, Lotion - 20 ml / 0.66 fl oz

Price: USD 17.50

Description: Make it a shine-free day! In three steps, Tri-balance with natural ingredients like Indian fig and acerola cherry help equalize and control oil for skin that’s balanced and hydrated. And each oil-free product boosts the performance of the next, intuitively adjusting for continuous oil control throughout the day. Safe for use on sensitive skin.

The GOOD: I love love love the smell! I don't know how to describe it but the smell stays on for quite awhile after you've washed your face. It's amazing that it really controls the oiliness especially around my forehead and nose. My nose and forehead totally didn't get all hardcore oily like is usually does. And the Balancing Lotion has a SPF/FPS 15 UVB/UVA protection which i think is great too.

The BAD: It made me break out! I used it religiously and it made me break out on the third day. The break outs wasn't that bad. There were like three pimples - two on my forehead and one on my right cheek. But i still continue using it for the next two days apart from the break outs just to see how it goes. But on the fifth day of using it, more new pimples (small ones) broke out on my forehead and my jawlines.

Product: ★★★★☆

Packaging: ★★★★★

Purchasable at: Sunset Ai

Recommended: Yes - Just because it made me break out, doesn't mean i have to say no, right?

Would i buy it again?: I guess not. But i might want to try their other products especially the Replenishing Eye Cream and Eye And Lip Makeup Remover.

I thought of passing this to anyone of you girls (only open for Singapore readers) for Singapore who might be interested to try it out and do a review as well. Who knows it might work for you. But please take note that it won't be a brand new item. I only used it for five times and there's still a lot more products left in the tubes and bottle. You don't have to pay anything, even for the postage charges. Do comment if any of you are interested.

*Updates*

Item is unavailable for sampling. Someone has already grabbed it.

Linnera went for the interview yesterday too but hers was at 11am. And guess what? She got the job! Congratulations to Lin! I'm so happy for her! Now girls, go and congratulate her ok! And as for me, i don't know if i will be getting the job or not. I'm still crossing my fingers, though. Maybe i should just wait for a few more days and see how it goes...

I Need The Good Luck From All Of You Girls

By heavenlygorgeous · January 15, 2010 · 33 Comments · 228 Views

Hi girls!

I know i haven't been updating regularly. A million apologies to all of you. I'm down with a fever for two weeks already. My fever shoot up to high right after i saw a Banshee on a tree at Alexandra Hospital on a Thursday night last week. I'm sure you girls know how shocked and frightened i was at that time.

But no worries, i'm fine now. Alhamdullillah (Thank Allah). I'm just down with a cough for now.

Well, whatever it is, i'm so happy when i received a call earlier today from BeneFit Cosmetics for a job interview this coming Monday as a Beauty Advisor. All i hope for is for me to get the job. Wish me good luck, girls!

December Collective Hauls

By heavenlygorgeous · January 5, 2010 · 22 Comments · 127 Views

First of all, a million apologies for the temporary hiatus. The reason is that my maternal Grandpa is admitted to the hospital and i've been going to and fro' the hospital everyday. And it's already been a week. He's already very old. He was down with alzheimer and the thing that worries us most is that he has a silent heart attack too. But thank God that his condition is better now.

Second, happy belated 2010 to all of my gorgeous readers and Onsugarettes! May 2010 be a blast for you girls! I didn't celebrate the new year. And sadly, i have a sad start to the new year. I don't want anything but my Grandpa to get well soon.

Third, i know i've promised a giveaway in December right after i'm back from my vacation. I'm sorry to tell you girls that the giveaway will be postponed to February instead.

Fourth, as you girls know from the title, here are some of the stuffs that i managed to grab last month, or last year. Whatever.

M.A.C Amplified Creme Lipstick in Half 'N Half. Retails at SGD 28. I hate the camera. It washes out the gorgeous color. Anyway, Dyan (Deardyan) mentioned that Hug Me was her first M.A.C lipstick in the What's Your First M.A.C Purchase post. She wanted a nude color for everyday use and the MUA recommended her that. I thought it was a great color so i went to M.A.C Vivocity and tried the color out. Too bad it doesn't suit my skin at all. I have a dark lip color so that's why the color looks different on me. So i told my MUA to recommend a nice nude color for me. So she recommended me Half 'N Half. And i love it! Even my Mama bought one for herself. It looks good on her too.

Here are the swatches. The color is way, way different in real life. Sorry. The digicam sucks big time.

I think it looks slightly pinkish in the picture.

Next...

Ellefar Magical Mascara G Volume from Daiso KL. Retails at RM 5 (SGD 2.05).

And a big thank you to Fatin (Tiarabangs) for getting me this baby.

Last but not least...

The Face Shop Nail Polish in RD 302 and PK 105. Retails at SGD 2.90 each. And SilkyGirl QuikClean Nail Polish Remover in Extra Strength from Watsons. Retails at SGD 3.90 but there's a 20% discount so i only paid SGD 3.10 for it.

So, that's it. I still have Too Faced Shadow Insurance and two M.A.C Eyeshadows (Ricepaper and Plum Dressing) to buy. Not now, but soon...

Small Haul From Westmall

By heavenlygorgeous · December 23, 2009 · 10 Comments · 111 Views

I just got back from Westmall with my parents. Stocked up some stuffs and also went to the library to borrow some books. Westmall was so packed with people. Christmas is like a day away and lots of people were doing last minute shoppings. Sales were going on everywhere.

So, let's move on to my hauls.

I got the travel size Liese Moisturising Hair Mist (Juicy Shower) from Watsons that Pepperlilac mentioned about in her blog.

It's SGD 3.95 each for a 50ml bottle. I thought it was a great deal. i haven't used this before but i sprayed it on my hair and i love, love, love the smell! It has a raspberry smell. I am so going to buy the 340ml refill pack which retails at SGD 16.90 to replenish it. The original packaging of the Hair Mist is the Juicy Shower Trigger Pack (200ml) which retails at SGD 14.90. If any one of you girls who want to try out this product, i suggest you girls buy the travel size pack first.

And then i bought these items to stock up for the finishing ones. From Guardian, Carefree Tea Tree Acti-Fresh Feminine Wash - Two for SGD 3.70. From Beaute Spring, Clean & Clear Oil Controlling Toner - SGD 1.80.

Precious Thoughts were having a small bazaar at the atrium on the first floor. I love Happy House stuffs. They're so girly and cute! And because most of the stuffs are in pink too.  *grins*  I bought the Little Princess Mug (comes with a cover too) for SGD 6.90 and the Mug Mat (four pieces in each pack) for SGD 1.90. These are great for gifts too.

Hmmm... There was one time when my Papa told me that i could get anything from M.A.C and he'll pay for it. In short, a sponsored M.A.C spree. I was very happy and excited at the same time. I wasn't sure what to get until i was at the store and decided to just get the stuffs that i only needed.

And the second is this beauty blog of mine. I started it early this year and the person who influenced me to do it? It was Diana (Adore Beauty).
